The City of Tulsa is using a cool piece of equipment to remove storm debris from North Tulsa.
"What it is is a walking excavator...we call it the spider," said David Deen, City of Tulsa.
It's a German piece of equipment .Tulsa has two of them.
Its primary use is cleaning up in hard to reach places like creek beds and ravines where normal equipment couldn't go.....but its really handy doing this too...
"So it's just a time saver for loading all the debris and getting from house to house much faster," according to Deen.
Watch the video. We've sped up it up a bit so you can see how this thing goes. The spider and a line of dump trucks moving down the street.
"They are just amazingly useful," Deen said. "We are very lucky to have a couple."
This is the second week of clean up they'll make another pass on Wednesday. That should be about it.
There goes the spider, looking for more things to pick up.
Check out the hefty dog on the chain. He doesn't know what to make of it. Well, they call it the spider. I don't like 'em much but that's one I think I could fall in love with.
