Two people were given life sentences on Monday after being convicted of sex crimes against children.

William Dugan and Valerie Ojo both were sentenced to life in prison on charges that included forcible sodomy, exploitation and sexual abuse of two girls, ages 4 and 6.

The Muskogee Police Department began an investigation in March 2015.

MPD continued investigating for months after the couple’s arrest.

"Our department is extremely proud of the work and time the investigators put into taking these two off the street and away from the children they were there to protect,” Muskogee Police said in a statement.

Muskogee police say that the Sapulpa Police Department helped to retrieve data from cell phones belonging to Dugan and Ojo, which was “imperative to the case.”
