A tree fell on a Jimmy John's delivery car around 12:30 p.m. Monday in Tulsa's Brookside neighborhood. Firefighters say the driver was southbound on Rockford near 38th when the tree crashed down on his small Honda sedan.
The driver was shaken up but not hurt, firefighters say. He was already out of the car by the time TFD arrived to cut away the tree limbs.
The tree stretched across the roadway. It smashed the hood, fender, windshield, pretty much the whole front end of the car.
City crews worked to clear away the debris. Rockford was shut down in the area of 38th to 39th Street South as it was cleared.
EMSA checked the delivery driver out and his manager arrived on scene to say they would take him to urgent care to make sure he was OK.
