The superintendent of Sand Springs Schools made good on a promise Monday. Lloyd Snow told the senior class if they raised $40,000s to pay for their graduation night party - he'd parachute into Charles page High School's Memorial Stadium during a football game.
They raised the money, but the Federal Aviation Administration said Snow wasn't experienced enough to land in the stadium. The FAA said he had to compete 100 prior jumps for that - and this was his first.
So he landed in a field near Skiatook, with an experienced jumper pulling the ropes and guiding the fall.
Snow is retiring after long-time service to the Sand Springs School District and over 30 years in education in all.
