A baby bald eagle hatched Friday morning at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington.
A pair of American bald eagles has been keeping two eggs warm since February. The American Eagle Foundation said the first eaglet fully emerged from its shell at 8:27 a.m.
A live webcam has been watching the nest.
The parents, dubbed "Mr. President" and "The First Lady," are the first couple to nest in the area since 1947.
The foundation says the eagles have been nesting at the arboretum since October 2014 and raised one eaglet last summer.
