A Wednesday early-evening, three-vehicle crash has ended in fatality, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles collided at Interstate 44 and the Arkansas River, and it turned fatal when a third car came on the scene and crashed into the first two.
Police say, just after 5:30 p.m., traffic was slowing on westbound I-44 near Elwood Avenue.
They said the driver of a 2014 Ford F150 pickup, Jason Klintworth, 46, of Jenks slowed down and a woman driving four-door 2014 Chevy Cruze, Linda Cervantes, 71, of Tulsa didn’t see the traffic backup and rear-ended the truck. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
That’s when, troopers say, a 2009 Pontiac G6, driven by Demarco Meoyer, 27, of Tulsa was heading west rear-ended the Chevy.
Police said the female passenger of the G6, Meosha Mcgee, 24, also of Tulsa was pronounced dead at the scene, police say she did not have a seat belt on. The other passenger, a 16-month-old male was transported along with the driver with non-life threatening injuries to a Tulsa hospital.
