Boil Order Issued For Town Of Panama

A boil order has been issued for the LeFlore County community of Panama.

LeFlore County Emergency Management says the order issued Tuesday evening impacts those living on the east side of Highway 59.

Officials told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith the reason is a water and sewer line break.  

Panama School officials say they canceled classes Wednesday because of the order.

Officials say the boil order will be lifted as soon as the breaks are repaired and DEQ testing confirms the water is safe.
