Deputies arrested a Tulsa man after getting reports he was pointing guns at drivers in the 7000 block of North Peoria late Friday.

In their report, deputies said they found 36-year-old Michael Carter holding a plastic M16-style toy gun, a black plastic handgun and a black plastic knife. Witnesses believed the guns to be real and that they were going to be shot.

When questioned, Carter stated, "I was pointing them because I got jumped by some people a few days ago."

After Carter placed the items on the ground, deputies arrested him and took him to jail.

Early Saturday, deputies booked Carter into the Tulsa County jail on four complaints of assault with a deadly weapon. Jail records show Carter is being held on $100,000 bond with a court appearance set for February 12.

The law classifies the threat of or implied use of a weapon to be a crime.

Carter has a history of arrests, and was jailed recently after an incident at a Broken Arrow Kum & Go store on December 31, 2015. Police said he was refusing to come out of a store restroom. In their report, officers said a store clerk believed Carter was wearing a mask and was going to rob the store.

According to court records, he waived a jury trial on January 14 and pleaded guilty to a charge of obstructing an officer.
