Missed opportunities early in the game dug Oklahoma State into a hole too deep to crawl out of.
Despite the 74-69 loss, it was a valiant effort for the Cowboys who trailed by as much as 23 points in the second half.
When OSU switched to a zone defense, Texas kept shooting threes but they stopped making them.
The Cowboys, on the other end, got consistent effort from Leyton Hammonds, Jawun Evans and Tavarius Shine, catching fire hitting four second-half threes.
OSU eventually cut the deficit to three but that’s as close as they got.
As a result, that slow start early cost the Cowboys, who fell to 1-4 in Big 12 play.
