A Midwest City man was sentenced Thursday to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole by a federal judge in Arkansas.
The U.S. Attorney Office in Fayetteville says Jack Lambeth was arrested after an undercover investigation by Fort Smith, Arkansas police last year concerning individuals using the Internet to target minors for sexual activity.
Police said Lambeth began chatting online with an undercover officer. He made plans to travel into Arkansas to engage in sexual acts with minors, according to a news release. The 58-year-old man was arrested by the FBI and police after making contact with the officer at a motel on March 28, 2015.
Lambeth pleaded guilty to crossing a state line with the intent to engage in a sexual act with a minor under 12 years old.
The U.S. Attorney also said Jack Lambeth also received an additional 10 years because of his sex offender status.
