Police Release Identity Of Tulsa Mail Theft Suspect

Police arrested a 37 year old woman after neighbor saw her stealing mail from mailboxes in a Tulsa neighborhood Friday morning.

Officers said the resident saw the woman, identified by police as Melissa Lynne Nelson going from mailbox to mailbox in the 7700 block of South 73rd East Avenue and followed her while calling police.  

Police said Nelson tried to hide between two houses. They said a search of her car turned up stolen mail and being in possession of Hydrocodone. 

They arrested Melissa Nelson on a drug complaint and took to the police station so postal inspectors could question her about the mail theft.
