A semi truck collapsed Tuesday evening during rush hour traffic. The truck was at 91st and Mingo when its trailer buckled.
Tulsa Police said they responded to the 9100 block of South Mingo Road just before 5:00 Tuesday night. When they arrived the truck driver told them he was driving east on the Creek Turnpike when he saw pieces of the top of his trailer flying off in his rear-view mirror.
Police said the driver exited on South Mingo and attempted to make a right turn onto 91st Street when the trailer buckled and collapsed in the roadway.
According to the report, the trailer was filled with empty glass bottles and was too heavy to be towed from the scene. A private company is recovering the cargo and moving the trailer.
Police said there were not collisions and no one was hurt.
They said the road will be closed for several hours and urge drivers to expect delays and avoid the area. No time was given for when the road may be open.
A specialist from the Weights and Measures division of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol also responded to the scene to inspect the truck.
