TU Set For Independence Bowl

Tulsa hit the practice field Thursday, two days before the Independence Bowl in Shreveport.

Coach Philip Montgomery noted that TU has some kids from the area that will get to play in front of their home fans, including receiver Keyarris Garrett. He also stressed that these last few practices and game are all about the seniors.

"You got to kind of make sure that your travel guys understand and your older guys are kind of being being great leaders and separating themselves from that part of it and understanding what we gotta do,” said Montgomery. “Our ultimate goal when we came here was to win a bowl game, wasn't just to play in a bowl game; it was to win a bowl game and so our seniors do a great job of leading them to do that."
