Independence Police Search For Suspected Shooter In Homicide

The Independence (Kansas) Police Department is searching for a man in connection to an overnight homicide, a news release says.

Police said neighbors reported hearing gunshots, and when officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene, as well as a woman who was wounded.

The woman was transported to a hospital.

Investigators now are able to name 24-year-old John Mack Brown as the suspect. A photo of Brown is attached to this story.
