A two-car crash closed the westbound lanes of the Broken Arrow Expressway Monday morning.
The crash happened between Yale and Sheridan at about 9:30 a.m. It involved two four-door cars, one of which appeared to have been hit on the driver's side.
Police said a woman driving a Pontiac Grand Am pulled in front of a woman driving a Honda Accord and the Accord hit the Pontiac almost broadside. Firefighters said the driver of the Honda was treated at the scene for minor injuries. They had to work to remove the driver of the Pontiac from her car because it was so badly damaged. They said EMSA took her to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash backed up traffic for about three miles. Police said they hadn't decided whether to cite anyone in the crash.
Emergency crews had a difficult time getting to the crash scene because traffic was so backed up.
A separate crash happened at about the same time on the BA at the overpass at I-44. It was also in the westbound lanes.
