The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate a fatal wreck involving a motorcycle Saturday. A woman passenger on the Harley Davidson motorcycle died in a collision with a car on Highway 20 at 177th East Avenue in Rogers County.

She has been identified as 26-year-old Owasso resident Caitlyn M. Palmer. The driver of the motorcycle, 68-year-old Walter S. Zaring of Broken Arrow, was transported in critical condition with head and other injuries, a collision report states.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain Paul Timmons said Tuesday that the investigation shows the driver of the car was northbound on 177th East Avenue when she started forward from the stop sign.

"Investigators believe the cycle was in the blind spot of a pickup that was making a right turn at the intersection where she was stopped, and she didn't see the motorcycle when she started forward from the stop sign," Timmons said.

Kelly C. Keller  of Collinsville was driving the car. She was not injured.

A trooper at the scene initially thought Keller had run a stop sign, but Timmons said that information was not correct.

A collision report states no helmets were in use. The roadway was closed for two hours and 20 minutes as firefighters and law enforcement responded.
