Sand Springs police and a fire marshal arrested a woman for arson at the Apple Creek Apartments late Friday. A fire marshal said he saw Amber Michelle Almy light trash on fire at a dumpster that's been the site of numerous fires.
Authorities set up surveillance at the complex located in the 100 block of East Broadway after fires were reported five times in September. A fire marshal watched through binoculars, keeping an eye on a dumpster in the parking lot.
He saw Almy reach into the dumpster with a lighter and set some trash on fire, according to an arrest report. When the fire went out, documents say Almy came back, dropped something into the dumpster, then set it on fire again.

The fire marshal and an ATF agent interviewed her at the Sand Springs Police Department, and she reportedly confessed to starting the fires in September. One of the fires did quite a bit of damage to the laundry room at Apple Creek.
The 40-year-old Almy was booked on six counts of arson.
