Tulsa Police say an SUV struck a child on a bicycle Friday morning.
Witnesses reported the driver of the Ford Escape had the sun in her eyes and did not see the child in the crosswalk at 41st and Harvard. They said the child had the green light. The child suffered very minor injuries.
Witnesses said the driver stopped, helped the child get up and then drove off, according to police.
Officers stopped the driver a short distance away. They said the driver told them she had left to get cash to help the child repair the bicycle.
Officers ticketed the driver for failure to yield for a pedestrian.
