Parking at the Tulsa State Fair is always a concern for police and home and business owners around the Tulsa County Fairgrounds.
This year the fair runs October 1 - 11 in midtown Tulsa.
Fair officials suggest fairgoers use free Tulsa State Fair shuttles each day instead of paying for parking at the fairgrounds.
The shuttles will operate Monday - Thursday from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m., Friday 5 p.m. to Midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. to Midnight and Sunday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. from four Tulsa locations.
The City of Tulsa also warns fairgoers NOT to park on streets, yards and driveways near the fairgrounds. Tulsa Police says parking ordinances will be strictly enforced during the fair. Parking is prohibited:
Police say illegal street parking may result in fines of $30. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense if parked in areas marked with “Tow Away Zone” signs, and/or obstructing normal traffic flow. Illegal parking in yards and on grass during the fair can result in fines of $60 for the vehicle owner and up to $500 to the property owner charging for a parking space in a yard, driveway and on grass.
