The University of Tulsa has named its new College of Health Sciences after a Tulsa couple, who have been longtime supporters of the community.

The John T. and Mary K. Oxley College of Health Sciences at 1215 South Boulder is scheduled to open in January.  University leaders say this is a big step toward having accessible healthcare in Tulsa.

"We're on our way to improving the health of Tulsa and Oklahoma. We'll be able to graduate more physicians, PAs, nurses, nurse practitioners, athletic trainers, exercise science folks, speech pathology, the whole health care team," said Dean of College of Health Sciences, Dr. Gerard Clancy.

The new facility will include a clinic, teaching labs, classrooms and faculty offices.
