Tulsa police have told News On 6 Crime Reporter Lori Fullbright the bomb squad has cleared a vehicle with the suspicious backpack inside after determining it was not a bomb.

Police said the driver was running late for conference so he parked illegally and ran to avoid being late.

Shortly before 9 a.m., Tulsa police closed streets around the federal courthouse after they got a tip of a man seen running from the car after parking it near the courthouse.

In the backseat was a backpack, and officers treated it as a possible bomb. The department's bomb squad was called and bomb techs examined the backpack.

The streets around the courthouse were reopened just before 10 a.m.

Reporter Erin Conrad said the nearby Cox Business Center, which was a hosting prayer event, was not evacuated due to the scare at federal courthouse.

Police said the man was not arrested in connection with the incident.
