A former Booker T. Washington coach was ordered to stand trial for sexual battery.

Wade Weller is accused of grabbing a student’s backside in April. Thursday, that student testified at a preliminary hearing along with another girl who said she witnessed the incident.

That student and another witness testified at Weller’s preliminary hearing.

They described what both called an uncomfortable situation, where they claim Weller put his arm around the teenage girl in a hug, then, lowered his hand and grabbed the teenage victim's behind.

Assistant Tulsa County District Attorney, Kenneth Elmore, said, “I think the witnesses did a good job of testifying today. They came forward, and it was very brave and courageous of them to do, so and I think they've done a very good job up into this point."

The victim cried as she approached the courtroom to testify.

Weller remained calm and collected and looked at each teenager during their testimony.

Weller's lawyer said the former coach feels the situation is unfortunate and appreciates the teen's confusion. He also said Weller is a good teacher and that it's sad that, "A good teacher has to go through this."

Tulsa Public Schools suspended Weller with pay before he later resigned. His lawyer said Weller has agreed not to teach until the case is resolved.

As for the district attorney's office, he has a message for other potential victims.

“The Tulsa Police Department is treating this like any other crime, so if there are any other witnesses or people with information they are always more than happy to talk to anybody, take down any information they might have whether it's a victim or a witness," Elmore said.

Weller's next court date is in September.
