It will be Oklahoma City Thunder Night at ONEOK Field on Saturday, August 29 when the Tulsa Drillers host the Springfield Cardinals. In addition to the baseball game on the field, Oklahoma's NBA team will have a major presence at the game to help fans get excited for the upcoming basketball season.
Fans in attendance will even have a chance to win one of five pairs of tickets that will be given away for the Thunder versus Dallas Mavericks preseason game that will be played at Tulsa's BOK Center on October 13.
Activities will begin with the first 1,500 fans of all ages entering the stadium through the Arvest and Oil Derrick Entrances receiving a set of Thunder over-the-ear headphones compliments of U.S. Cellular, Tulsa's Channel 8 and 92.9 BOB FM.
Once inside the stadium, fans can meet members of the Thunder Girls who will be available for autographs and photographs on the concourse behind home plate from 6:00-6:45pm.
The OG&E ThunderBolt will be set up on the concourse under the scoreboard, and fans of all ages are encouraged to visit for an interactive Thunder experience. Fans can also find a Thunder spirit station next to the Drillers Team Store.
The Thunder Drummers will be in attendance to perform before and during the game.
The Storm Chasers will entertain the crowd with fun games and contests, and Rumble the Bison, the Thunder mascot, will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
A pop-a-shot basketball hoop will be located behind home plate for fans to test their basketball shooting skills. A Thunder ticket table will be located on the concourse to provide details on any ticketing opportunities for the upcoming season.
Lastly, a Thunder merchandise trailer will be set up on Elgin Avenue to give fans the opportunity to stock up on Thunder gear as they get ready for the upcoming NBA season.
