A Wagoner man is dead after a semi-truck slammed into the back of his vehicle Thursday afternoon.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the deceased man was following a slow-moving vehicle on U.S. Highway 69 when he was struck from behind.
The fatality wreck took place just after 2 p.m. about 2 miles south of Wagoner.
A collision report states George Thayer was following a tractor with emergency flashes on, southbound on U.S. 69. A Mack truck driven by Illinois resident Richard Stanley hit him from behind, pushing Thayer's truck off the roadway and into a tree, the report says.
The 75-year-old Thayer was pronounced dead at the scene. Stanley, 60, was not injured.
Troopers said the cause of the crash was inattentive driving.
