Crash On BA Expressway Sends Woman, Child To Hospital

A woman and a child were both sent to the hospital after a crash on the Broken Arrow Expressway Wednesday night.

Police say the woman was east on Highway 51 when, for an unknown reason, she left the road and crashed between Elm Place and Lynn Lane around 7:00 p.m.

Officers said the vehicle struck a fence off the road, but the vehicle never rolled.

The woman was flown to a hospital in serious condition. The child, who was in a car seat, was taken via ambulance and is believed to be ok.

Neither of their injuries are considered life threatening, police said.

They are investigating if a medical issue played a part in the accident, but nothing is confirmed at this time.

Police said the crash closed lanes and backed up traffic for about 45 minutes.
