A convicted felon was arrested after a chase about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a report says.
A deputy initiated a stop for a defective brake light on a Ford F150, but according to the arrest report, Kody Shane Edmondson, 28, accelerated and turned off West Edison onto North Gilcrease Avenue. Edmondson led the deputy through a neighborhood, running multiple stop signs and driving past pedestrians about 50 mph, the report says.
Edmondson entered U.S. Highway 412 westbound and drove about 20 mph on the shoulder, then stopped the vehicle without turning on the emergency lights, the deputy said.
Edmondson reportedly jumped out of the truck and ran westbound, ignoring commands from the deputy to stop, according to the report. The deputy chased Edmondson, eventually catching him in the 600 block of South 72nd West Avenue.
Edmondson was arrested for eluding after the commission of a felony, defective/improper lights, improper stopping, driving while suspended and resisting arrest.
The deputy said Edmondson didn’t have insurance either.
He previously served time in prison for robbery with a firearm.
