A man threw a Molotov cocktail at another driver early Tuesday, according to Tulsa Police.
Officers say it happened in the 3400 block of East 11th Street near the University of Tulsa campus at about 1:15 a.m.
The victim told police a man pulled up beside him and began taunting him and his friends. He said the man then pulled out a bottle with a rag in it, lit the rag and threw the bottle at them.
The victim said the plastic bottle missed and the man drove off. They also said the man appeared to have spilled liquid from the bottle on himself in the process.
A short time later, officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 2700 block of East Admiral Place when they realized the white GMC pickup and the driver matched the description given by the victim on 11th Street.
When police tried to stop the truck, the man drove off. The chase ended in a driveway in the 700 block of North Florence Place.
Police arrested the man identified as Abraham Martinez, 36. Officers said they found lighters, gasoline and empty plastic bottles in his pickup.
Police booked Abraham Martinez into the Tulsa County jail on two complaints of assault with a deadly weapon. Jail records show he is being held on $50,000 bond with a court appearance set for August 18.
