Sixteen families have been displaced by a fire at the Tower Crossing Apartments near 41st and Garnett, according to Tulsa firefighters.

An entire building at the large complex has been affected. Crews are still cleaning up from the fire Sunday afternoon.

Captain Stan May said 20 companies responded with about 70 firefighters on scene. They requested Hazmat and conducted search and rescue operations.

No injuries have been reported, but May said it is still early in the fire investigation. Some pets may have perished in the fire.

Firefighters are working to learn the cause of the fire which they say spread to the attic.

Crews are being rotated due to the extreme heat.

It's the second apartment fire for Tulsa in 24 hours. A small fire broke out at the Mayo 420 building downtown late Saturday night.
