DeWanna Bonner scored 25 points, capped by a contested 3-pointer at the overtime buzzer, to lift the Phoenix Mercury to an 87-84 win over the Tulsa Shock on Tuesday night.
Phoenix (13-7) struggled to run a final play after a timeout with 23 seconds left and again after a timeout with 5.2 left before getting the ball to Bonner near mid-court. She started right, went left above the key before taking a dribble back to the right and shooting over Karima Christmas.
Tulsa (10-11), which lost its seventh straight, never trailed by more than two before the final basket and let a 12-point lead late in the third quarter slip away. All five starters scored at least 14 points with Riquna Williams and Christmas leading with 17. Courtney Paris had 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Candice Dupree had 24 points and Brittney Griner 18 with 13 rebounds and five blocks for Phoenix.
