Tulsa Police: Teen Crashes Parents' Mercedes SUV During Chase

Police say a teenager crashed his parents' Mercedes into a koi pond while running from officers early Wednesday.

An officer said the SUV failed to stop for a red light at 21st and Peoria at about 2 a.m. The officer tried to stop the Mercedes, but it sped off into a neighborhood.  

Police said the chase ended when the 15-year-old driver failed to negotiate an intersection at 24th and Peoria, crashing through a iron gate and landing in a Koi pond beside a home.

Police said the teen wasn't hurt, but the crash caused extensive damage to the landscaping.  

Officers took the teen into custody and contacted his parents.
