A man's body was found on the bank of the Arkansas River on Wednesday morning.

A caller reported the body washed up on the bank near 13th and Riverside Drive at about 7:15 a.m. TPD Officer Leland Ashley says officers found a white male lying face down next to the bank in the river.

Ted Kachel said he was out for a walk with his wife when a man told him he thought he could see a body near the bank. Kachel said he got closer and confirmed it was a body, so they called 911.

"I think what happens is at that point, you say 'oh my God, how can anyone end up like that?’” Kachel said. “Some people have seen him here previously... I think he is the guy I've seen down here before."

It is unknown at this point how long the body was in the river, but there are no signs of trauma or anything suspicious about the death, according to police.

Police say the body appears to be a white male somewhere between the ages of 45-55. There was no identification found. The body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa for further investigation.
