Beef Jerky Outlet To Open Doors In Broken Arrow

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma - A new Beef Jerky Outlet Franchise in Broken Arrow will celebrate its grand opening this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

The outlet specializes in more than 200 varieties and sizes of jerky, including kangaroo, alligator and elk - some of which will be available to sample during the celebration.

A selection of other snacks like bug lollipops will also be for sale, with fillings like crickets and scorpions.

“Here in Broken Arrow, locals crave high protein, low fat snacks like beef jerky," said Lorrie Belew, owner of Broken Arrow Beef Jerky Outlet. "We're looking forward to being a part of this community and glad to introduce some new flavors to our new friends."

Among the new "flavors" available are moonshine, cajun and "spicy sensation" jerky made with the Carolina Reaper, which is the world's hottest pepper.

Jerky is a fast growing industry, with sales jumping 46 percent from 2009 to 2014, according to a report from IRI, a Chicago based market research firm.

Ten percent of all sales during the grand opening celebration will be donated to the Broken Arrow Neighbors, a local nonprofit organization.

Beef Jerky Outlet is located at 431 West Stone Drive.
