Muskogee Police Department says it has arrested a man and recovered weapons, drugs, cash and seized a vehicle.
MPD’s Special Operations Team and Special Investigations Unit served a warrant at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at a home in the 300 block of North Camden Place. According to police, 11 firearms, body armor, 4 pounds of high-grade marijuana, a large amount of hash oil and $1,600 were found, plus the agencies seized a 2002 black Chevy Tahoe.
They also arrested Matthew Frix. According to detectives, SIU has been working on the case since the beginning of May.
Investigators say they were informed that Frix was was distributing “major” amounts of marijuana.
“Once they received that information, they began to do surveillance on the house, until they could verify that he had returned from California with drugs in his possession,” a news release says. “Once they were able to confirm that Frix had returned from California and it was verified through informants that he was in possession of marijuana that he had transported back, they served the search warrant on his residence.”
Investigators said the house was secured without incident.
Agents saw several places throughout the house “where Frix had positioned the weapons, we assume in defense of his drugs,” MPD said.
