A wreck that killed a Locust Grove woman is under investigation, according to the Oklahoma Highway patrol.

A wreck that killed a Locust Grove woman is under investigation, according to the Oklahoma Highway patrol. The fatality crash took place just before 11 p.m. Thursday, June 26 on State Highway 82 six miles north of Tahlequah.

Troopers say Dacia Wilkins-Cooper was a passenger in a car that left the road for an unknown reason, crossed the center line and struck a tree and culvert.

The 21-year-old Locust Grove woman died at the scene. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver, 22-year-old David Sowell of Pryor, was treated and released from the Tahlequah hospital. His condition at the time of the crash is under investigation, a collision report states.
