If you're looking for a dog or another dog, there's a great opportunity to adopt a new pet this weekend; everything from pit bulls to poodles.
Earlier this week a pit bull named Bella visited us here at News On 6 and attracted all kinds of attention not only for her, but for a big event Saturday.
Jamee Suarez-Howard with the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals said their big adoption fair, Rock and Rescue, is this weekend and there is a chance to check out lots of adoptable dogs in one place.
"We try to shoot for 50-60 adoptions in four hours," he said.
Bella is from Amore Pit Bull Rescue and came in wearing a bathing suit and sunglasses.
Lisa Varshay, her foster mamma, said, “She's very calm, she's a very calm dog. She's got a great personality."
Varshay said when she got Bella, she had no real social skills. But that's not the case anymore.
"Now she sits, she's crate trained, she's potty trained; she just needs a wonderful home," Varshay said.
More than 30 agencies will have dogs at the big event available for adoption.
Rock and Rescue is Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks.
There will be $20 micro-chipping and free ID tags available. You can get more information here.
