The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says it is monitoring a number of highway closures across the state. The department has released a list of current closures.
ODOT's list of highway closings in eastern Oklahoma due to high water:
Cherokee County
SH-80 is closed to through traffic about four miles west of Hulbert between SH-51 and US-62. This roadway remains under water. Once flood waters recede, crews will clean up the area and assess the road surface before reopening it to traffic.
LeFlore County
US-270 is closed between Wister and Heavener and US-271 at Wister. Signs are in place and traffic will be detoured to Poteau and Heavener. This closure will continue until flood waters recede from the roadway.
SH-1 is closed between US-271 and US-259 through the Ouachita National Forest due to damage from a land slide.
Pittsburg County
SH-31 is closed west of McAlester.
Additional closures can be found at the department's website or check out an interactive map of Oklahoma highway closures.
