Police say a man was arrested Sunday evening after attacking his mother and her boyfriend with a meat cleaver.

Police: Tulsa Man Attacks Mother With Meat Cleaver

Police arrested a Tulsa man Sunday evening for attacking his mother and her boyfriend with a meat cleaver.

Officers said the attack took place in a home in the 1100 block of North New Haven just before 7 p.m.

Police said William Asay, 25, grabbed the meat cleaver and threatened his 46-year-old mother. They said the mother suffered a minor cut on her throat from the meat cleaver. They say her 48-year-old boyfriend was hurt while trying to protect her.

Asay ran out of the house, police said, but they found him still holding the meat cleaver about a block from the home.

They booked William Asay into the Tulsa County jail on two complaints of assault with a deadly weapon. Jail records show he is being held without bond pending a court appearance.
