Coweta Police said a 31-year-old woman is in custody after a chase early Friday that started in Coweta and went into Rogers County.

Officers said the chase ended 20 miles later when Melissa Martin of Broken Arrow drove her Dodge pickup off the road into some trees in the 1400 block of South 283rd East Avenue.

Coweta Police Chief Michael Bell said an officer tried to stop Martin for a traffic violation when she drove off. During the pursuit, he said Martin avoided stop sticks.

Bell expected Melissa Martin to be booked into the Wagoner County jail on complaints including running a roadblock, driving under suspension and eluding.
