A man is dead following a shooting at the Brightwater Apartments in west Tulsa. Police were called to the complex near Southwest Boulevard and West 23rd Street just before 3 a.m. Monday.

They found a man inside an apartment, dead of a single gunshot wound. He has been identified by family members as 25-year-old Wayne Squires.

Investigators questioned witnesses from the complex and Squires' brother. They said they were able to determine there was a third person in the apartment at the time of the shooting. That person was later identified as 20-year-old Deonte Conway.

Tulsa Police Sergeant, Dave Walker, said throughout Monday morning Tulsa Police Homicide and Tulsa Police Fugitive Warrants had surveillance crews looking for Conway.

Walker said officers found Conway at Oklahoma and Sheridan and stopped him. They said Conway initially lied about his identity before being arrested.

According to Walker, no motive has been established at this time, but he hopes the people who aided Conway at a North Tulsa apartment come forward.

Walker said there is a possibility of more arrests as the investigation continues.

News On 6 spoke to one resident who said she was a good friend of the victim. She said she had been at the apartment and that Squires had been shot in the head.

The complex is Section 8 housing. It's entirely fenced off, and there is a security guard at the entrance.

Authorities believe Conway left immediately after killing Squires.
