The Red Cross says it has two emergency shelters open across Oklahoma because of flooding.
The newest shelter to open is in Wagoner at the First United Methodist Church. It opened Tuesday evening. Officials say volunteers are providing meals and snacks.
The other shelter is located in Lexington at Circle The Wagon's Ministries on East Broadway.
The Red Cross says since May 6 across Oklahoma, they have provided more than 140 overnight shelter stays. Prepared more than 28,500 meals and snacks. Handed out more than 16,500 cleaning items like rakes, gloves, shovels, cleanup kits and tarps. And deployed more than 350 volunteers from Oklahoma and across the country.
The Red Cross had a third shelter open in Poteau at the Poteau High School but said it closed Tuesday afternoon, saying those needing temporary shelter had found housing.
