The A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Foundation is helping transform medical education in Tulsa.

The foundation pledged an $8 million donation Tuesday to help build a new academic building at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.

It's the largest gift ever made to the Center.

OSU plans to name the 84,000 square foot facility after the Tandy's.

The four-story building will include a hospital simulation center with an emergency room, operating room, intensive care unit, birthing suite and ambulance bay.

Construction should begin later this year.
