Man Hit, Killed Walking On Midtown Tulsa Street

Tulsa Police say a man walking on Skelly Drive between Darlington and Yale was struck and killed Monday evening. 

Officers said Shane Simms, 25, of Tulsa was walking in the roadway just before 9 p.m. when a 17-year driver headed west in his 2005 Ford Escape hit Simms.

Police said Simms' girlfriend, who was walking with him was not injured. 

Officers said Simms was wearing dark-colored clothing and the streets lights in that section of Skelly Drive as well as several lights on Interstate 44 nearby were off.

Police said they do not anticipate any criminal charges to be filed.
