The body of a man was found in a drainage pipe in Creek County Sunday morning, now deputies are trying to figure out who the man is and if he was swept away in high water.
Neighbors along 186th Street South near Kiefer say they knew that the drain was flooding Saturday night, they say they saw the water coming up almost to the roadway.
Several thought the pipe may have been clogged, they just didn't realize--with what.
The body of a man was found Sunday at about 10 a.m. stuck in the metal pipe just west of Highway 75.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Creek County Sheriff deputies and the Kiefer Fire Department responded after someone driving by saw what looked like a body in the water. The road was shut down.
Neighbors who stood by watching say they don't know who the man is or why he was there, but say they are devastated none the less.
Deputies say they're still trying to figure out how long the man had been there but say neighbors noticed the drain was clogged some time around 9 p.m. Saturday.
The man's body was taken to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa to be identified.
The Creek County Sheriff's Office plans to release more information in the coming days.
