The News On 6 WARN Team is forecasting rain and thunderstorms the entire Memorial Day holiday weekend.
News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says a storm system moving into Oklahoma has brought more rain and showers to the state. That rain is slowly moving eastward.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch through Monday morning for all of eastern Oklahoma. The NWS says rainfall amounts of four to six inches will be common through Monday. With that rain, flooding is expected given the ground is already saturated from rains earlier this week.
Crone says for Friday, there is a 50-percent chance for rain with a high of around 60 degrees.
He says there is a big threat of heavy rains and with embedded thunderstorms in eastern Oklahoma Saturday night and Sunday morning. For the day on Sunday, Crone is forecasting a 90-percent chance for rain with temperatures in the mid 70s.
On Monday, Memorial Day, Alan Crone says the chance for rain falls to 30-percent with a high forecast near 80 as the storm systems moves out of Oklahoma.
