Health officials say prescription drug overdoses kill nearly two people in Oklahoma every day.  With that in mind, the City of Tulsa has set up three places on May 16 where residents can get rid of old medications safely and securely.

On Saturday, city employees will be at the Reasor's stores at 71st and Sheridan and 41st and Yale and at the Save-A-Lot at Pine and Lewis from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In addition to Saturday's event, the city says residents can take unwanted prescription drugs to one of the city's three police stations or the Tulsa County Sheriff's office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m:

  • Tulsa Police Gilcrease Division, 3436 North Delaware Avenue
  • Tulsa Police Mingo Valley Division, 10122 East 11th Street
  • Tulsa Police Riverside Division, 7515 South Riverside Drive
  • Tulsa County Sheriff, 303 West 1st Street
