Tulsa police have confirmed an arrest has been made in connection to a hit-and-run crash that killed a Tulsa motorcyclist near 51st and Memorial.

Police say an SUV, driven by Brian David Layfield, 37, left the McDonald's restaurant on Memorial and pulled out in front of a northbound motorcyclist. The motorcyclist tried to avoid the Buick Rendezvous but could not, police say.

The man on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital and died of his injuries.

The SUV that hit him stopped nearby long enough for the people inside to switch seats, according to police. They then left the scene.

Police tell News On 6 they have found the SUV at an apartment complex.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
