Vigil Held For Tulsa Homicide Victim

A candlelight vigil and balloon release was held Wednesday evening for a Tulsa woman who died in a car crash at 61st and Lewis on April 27. 

Family and friends gathered at Tulsa's Heller Park to say goodbye to Shamara Girod. 

Tulsa Police said a car ran her over during a fight at the park. When someone drove her to the hospital, police say that driver ran a red light and another vehicle slammed into Girod's car. 

Police investigators are still looking for the silver sedan that initially hit Girod at the park.
