Police are looking for a semi that caused a gasoline spill in Okmulgee Monday afternoon.

Police Chief Joe Prentiss said the red Mack truck pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with oilfield equipment turned off Highway 75 into the Circle K store at 20th Street, according to witnesses.

The truck hit one of the pumps, stopped, backed up and hit the same pump again, then drove away. The broken pumped leaked a large amount of gasoline.

Fire officials say the gasoline did not catch fire thanks to heavy rain at the time but the gasoline flowed onto lawns and driveways of nearby homes.

A hazardous materials crew cleaned up the gasoline. The convenience store shut down its pumps during the cleanup.

Prentiss said Henryetta Police officers found a semi matching the truck's description but it was determined it was not the truck involved.
