Expect Delays On Tulsa's I-244 With New Ramp, Lane Closures

Driving on Tulsa's Interstate-244 is already a headache due to a massive pavement reconstruction project, but starting Tuesday drivers will see fewer options to get on and off the highway.

Driving on Tulsa's Interstate-244 is already a headache due to a massive pavement reconstruction project, but starting Tuesday drivers will see fewer options to get on and off the highway.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says effective Tuesday, the eastbound on ramp from Utica will be closed through June. The eastbound I-244 off ramp to Utica is already closed through June.

In addition, ODOT says the westbound I-244 on ramp from Yale and the off-ramp to Delaware is closed. North and southbound Peoria is narrowed to one lane in each direction under I-244. The eastbound I-244 on-ramp from 2nd Street is closed through June. And the eastbound I-244 on-ramp from Yale is closed through July.

ODOT says the cost of the I-244 pavement reconstruction project from Delaware to 73rd East Avenue is $38 million.
