Corey Seager had another standout game against Corpus Christi, tallying three more hits and his first homer of the season to help the Drillers to a 2-1 win over the Hooks.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of four, when Seager cracked a homer to right-center, giving the Drillers a 1-0 advantage.
The Drillers later added onto its lead at the bottom of eight when Seager came through once again, this time with a single line drive to center field that brought in Peter Lavin.
The Hooks attempted a rally at the top of nine when Carlos Correa smacked a home run to left-center, but the team only managed his single score by the end of the ball game.
Seager wasn't the only outstanding Driller. Starting pitcher Chris Anderson had his second solid mound performance of the season, helping his team to the win. He also improved his record to 2-0, allowing just two hits in six shutout innings, which lowered his ERA to 1.64 over 11 innings pitched.
The win helped the Drillers finish the opening homestand of the season with a 3-3 record.
